Women in Fish and Chips Launches Vlogs to Support Shops During Crisis
Updated: 23 February, 2024
JJ Foodservice has launched a series of Women in Fish and Chips Vlogs to share how leading shops are coping with the lockdown.
Head of Communications at JJ Foodservice, Elit Rowland, said the Vlogs are designed to support and re-connect shop owners.
“We have some incredible women in our network and are privileged that they have taken the time to share their stories.”
Director of The Real Food Café, Sarah Heward, kicks off the first episode.
She says that closing her 2000-order-a-day restaurant was “emotionally crucifying.”
“You can’t just shut a business up that’s going like a train.”
Sarah Heward was the guest speaker at the Women in Fish and Chips conference
Sarah urges owners to “focus on the money” when they re-open. “Don’t invest in anything unless it delivers a return.”
Fish and chip owners are inclined to focus on the products and people first. But now, “profits must be right up there with the rest.”
Vlogs will be available to watch via the JJ Foodservice YouTube channel.
