Meet Marek – delivery manager based at our Aston branch!
Current Position & Department: Delivery Manager, Aston
Length of service: 17 years
Having started at JJ Enfield on the night shift in 2004, two weeks later Marek was promoted to delivery driver, which in his words was one the “best decisions” he ever made. “I loved the regular contact with customers,” he says.
“Talking to them every day and hearing their stories was great.”
Marek has since progressed through multiple roles at four different branches including Enfield, Manchester, Birmingham and now Aston.
“Every city was different, and I enjoyed the variety of the role. It’s one of the reasons I have worked at JJ for so long.”
Marek said his greatest achievement in the company was when he moved to the Manchester branch for a temporary role, helping delivery and warehouse managers.
It all went so well that he was offered the opportunity to stay there permanently.
“The company knew I was doing a good job. Since then, I have been trusted to guide both Birmingham and Aston teams, and for that I am proud”, he says.
When he’s not leading his team of drivers, Marek enjoys exploring different cities around the UK – “In lockdown I travelled everywhere, Cornwall, Wales, Bournemouth – it was fantastic, this country is beautiful. We even brought a tent for the dog to come along too.”
