All of the motherly figures in your life deserve to be treated on Mother’s Day. Whether you need some inspiration for your restaurant menu or are celebrating at home and need some ideas – we’ve got you covered. Our top picks for brunch, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea will be sure to go down a treat.
Lunch and dinner, show mum she’s a winner
If your mama loves meat, why not do it properly? Our brand-new lamb shanks are delicious when they are slow-cooked and served in a red wine sauce, alongside creamy mashed potato or ruffled roasties.
A slow roasted belly of pork would also make an incredible Sunday lunch. It even makes epic leftover sandwiches the next day too!
  • Score the rind of your cut and drizzle with sunflower oil.
  • Press some crushed peppercorns and coarse sea salt into the skin, make sure to get into the crevices.
  • Cook for one hour on 180 degrees celcius, then remove and baste.
  • Continue cooking for another one and a half hours, basting every 20 minutes.
  • Slice three large onions and put them underneath the pork in the roasting tin.
  • In a bowl, mix together three tablespoons of clear honey, two teaspoons ground cumin, and one red chilli, chopped and deseeded.
  • Brush this mixture over the pork, and increase the oven to 200 degrees celcius – cook for a further 30-40 minutes, until the pork has a caramelised golden glaze.
  • Once cooked, remove from the oven and leave to rest for 10-15 minutes.
Breakfast and brunch for the Sunday morning bunch
Shakshuka
This wonderful Middle Eastern dish served in a pan is filled with tomatoes, peppers, spinach and eggs. Serve alongside some deliciously crusty bread to dip into the scrumptious sauce.
You will need:
Filled croissants
Sweet and savoury stuffed croissants make a delicious breakfast or brunch option.
Slice your croissant in half lengthways and fill with ham and cheese, scrambled egg and smoked salmon, or mozzarella and fresh tomato.
For a sweeter start to the day, what about a strawberry cheesecake stuffed croissant? Or an ice cream and Nutella sandwich for the ultimate choccy overdose.
Eggs benedict / royale
This breakfast classic is the perfect way to kick off a day of celebrations.
An easy and simple brunch dish that looks like you’ve pulled out all the stops for mum!
Pancake sharing board
This one is excellent for the family to share on Mother’s Day morning.
Cook the pancakes ahead of time and keep warm. In the meantime, cook some bacon and prepare your pancake toppings. We love ours drizzled with maple syrup or served with some fresh berries and sliced banana.
This is a great option both at home, and to serve for brunch in a cafe or brasserie.
Afternoon tea for the whole family
A little afternoon tea spread is something every mum loves. Easy to prepare at home or in a restaurant, these little bites will be sure to make her happy.
