Guide to Celebrating British Food Fortnight
Updated: 23 February, 2024
British Food Fortnight (BFF) takes place from 19th September to 4th October and is a fantastic opportunity for restaurants, pubs and cafes to promote dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients.
If you are a caterer, here’s five ways to celebrate British Food Fortnight!
Step 1. Create Menu Concepts
Help your customers to celebrate by adding traditionally British dishes to your menu – whether it’s a traditional roast dinner, English Breakfast or fish and chips – and highlighting it on your specials board and website.
Step 2. Run a Competition for Customers
Encourage your customers to cook up a feast at home with a Best British Dish Competition. Offer a free meal to the most creative and delicious dish!
Step 3. Enjoy British at Home
Why limit the local support to your business? – Enjoy a traditional British meal at home and share the experience on social media to encourage others to do the same.
Step 4. Follow Love British Food
Whatever you do – share your activity on social media with the Official organiser tags @LoveBritishFood and #BritishFoodisGreat. If you tag us (@jjfoodservice) we will share your activity with our followers too.
Step 5. Work with British Suppliers
At JJ Foodservice, we have a fantastic range of UK beef joints, Welsh lamb and many other locally-sourced ingredients. We’ve hand-picked a few of our favourites for you to enjoy. Click on the banner below and enjoy!
