JJ Wimbledon Team Joins the Clean Up at Wimbledon & Putney Commons
Updated: 20 January, 2025

At JJ Foodservice, we are passionate about giving back to the communities we serve. One way we do this is by participating in regular volunteering activities that create a positive impact on the environment and people around us.

Recently, our Wimbledon team swapped their usual tasks for something a little different – supporting the beautiful Wimbledon & Putney Commons. Spanning over 1,000 acres of stunning countryside, the Commons are a haven for wildlife and a popular space for the local community.

It’s incredible to think that the upkeep of such an expansive area relies heavily on the dedication of volunteers, who contribute a staggering 8,000 hours of service every year.

Our volunteers, Praveen and Pearl, rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into the clean-up effort. From picking up discarded buns to stumbling upon old boots, the duo tackled all kinds of unexpected litter.

Their efforts, alongside those of countless other volunteers, play a vital role in maintaining the pristine condition of this important space.

A huge thank you to Praveen, Pearl, and our amazing Wimbledon team for their hard work and commitment to keeping Wimbledon & Putney Commons tidy! A special shoutout goes to Paul, the park ranger, who gave us a guided tour and helped us understand the importance of preserving this special place.

This won’t be our last visit! At JJ Foodservice, we’re always looking for new ways to make a difference to the communities that we work with.
