Meet the buyers! JJ Foodservice Purchasing team

Big things are happening at JJ Foodservice! We’re planning to boost our product range by a whopping 67% over the next two years, taking us from 3,000 to 5,000 items. With the eating-out market bouncing back, this expansion couldn’t come at a better time.

At last week’s Supplier Conference, our Chief Product Officer, Sezer Ozkul, said, “With inflation easing, consumer confidence is beginning to return after two years of belt-tightening. The eating-out market is finally ready for a comeback.” And we’re here for it!

Held at the stunning 30 Euston Square, the conference brought together our key suppliers under the theme "Journey to Growth: Innovation and New Markets."

Emerging Trends

We’re excited to focus on some hot emerging markets, particularly the booming Korean, Thai, and Japanese sectors, which are set to drive our growth over the next five years. Sezer added, “The World Food Asia market is one of the most exciting trends in foodservice, and we’re expanding our range to meet the demand for Asian fusion foods.”

Key announcements from the day:

✔️ Product Range Expansion: We’re increasing our product range from 3,000 to 5,000 lines across our 12 branches over the next 24 months.

✔️  Branch Growth: We’re opening more London branches to better serve customers.

✔️  Acquisitions: Expect to see us making targeted acquisitions in key markets to enhance our capabilities.

✔️  15% Growth: Our Advance Order marketplace reported 15% growth, helping us improve nationwide availability.

✔️  JJ Home: A 41% boost in sales, now offering 900 product lines for home delivery.

School of Wok: Delegates enjoyed a dumpling making masterclass

Fantastic Foodie Workshops

We also hosted some fantastic workshops in the afternoon! Santa Maria led a Mexican food workshop, The Food Fellas hosted a Thai cooking session, and The School of Wok wowed us with a Dumpling Making Masterclass. Plus, we heard from industry experts like CJ Foods (the world’s largest Korean food producer), Lumina Intelligence, and Future Foodservice about the latest trends shaping the market.

With these exciting developments, we’re ready to take on the future and support our customers as the eating-out market continues to grow.
