Expanding in the Asian Restaurant Market with a 78% Sales Surge
Updated: 24 March, 2025

Over the past year, we’ve seen incredible growth in the Asian restaurant sector, with sales to Thai, Korean, and Japanese restaurants surging by 78%. Business accounts in this category have also risen by 28%, reinforcing our role as a key supplier in the market.

We recognised a strong opportunity in this space and took action. Expanding our World Food Asia range has helped our existing customers diversify their menus while attracting a wave of new businesses. The result? Higher basket spend and a significant increase in new accounts.

To support this growing demand, we acquired specialist ethnic food wholesaler Gateland Supplies last year, adding hundreds of authentic products to our offer. This, along with a 17% expansion in our overall range, ensures we’re continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of UK restaurants.

The UK hospitality sector has faced its share of challenges, from rising costs to inflationary pressures. But our focus on exceptional service, high-quality products, and innovation keeps us moving forward. For restaurant brands looking to thrive, we’re here to help you succeed.
